October Harlequin Special Edition reviews Building The Perfect Daddy & Ms. Bravo and the Boss

Unfortunately I didn't have time to read the two Harlequin Special Edition novels for October in time for my showcase last week.
So better late than never here they are!
Enjoy!

Overview:
BEAUTY AND THE…MAN WHO'LL NEVER LET HER GO
Elise Bravo needed a job, desperately. And soldier turned thriller writer Jed Walsh burned through—almost literally, it turned out—assistants like hellfire through brimstone. Turned out he had some…unusual work habits to go along with his giant talent and ego. He threw knives to relax. He cleaned his guns as he acted out scenes. And more than anything, he hated cats…
Enter Elise, crack typist, master plotter and perfect for the live-in job in every way but one…two if you counted Mr. Wiggles, her furry companion. For though Jed had sworn he would never get "involved" with a woman who worked for him, it took only a day or two with the perfectly professional, pencil skirt–wearing Bravo beauty to realize that his interest in Elise broke all the rules. He had to make her his—even if he had to win over her kitty to do it…
My Review
Ms. Bravo and the Boss
Christine Rimmer

Rimmer’s latest Bravo family novel is a real page-turner told via a smart and sexy dialogue with a healthy dose of humor, staring a fantastic, unforgettable couple whose chemistry is off the charts, a kitty co-star that will steal hearts and the show and the entire supporting cast of wagon circling Bravo siblings. But it’s definitely the conversations between her hero and Mr. Wiggles the cat and the very satisfying HEA ending she gives her freakishly reclusive hero and unsinkable, down but not out heroine that makes this a keeper!

Down on her luck and in debt up to her eyeballs because of some bad luck and worse decisions has left Elise Bravo with only one option; work like a dog until she’s back on her feet. If that means working for a sexy but sadistic NYT bestseller, so be it!
Reclusive thriller author Jed Walsh in running out of patience and running out of time to get his next book finished. He needs a new assistant pronto. One that will follow orders without question and won’t run screaming because of his idiosyncratic ways. Good thing the real deal just walked in his door, now if he can keep his hands off her he might make his deadline.

Overview:

Ryder to the Rescue!
On location for his home-improvement show, "America's Hottest Handyman" Ryder Wallace has his hands full with the station's contest winner. Lauryn Schulte is a single mom with a falling-down house, a failing business and two kids under four—exactly the kind of woman that has this playboy running for this hills…but not this time. Not when her little girl has him playing tea party, building castles and cuddling her baby brother.
And Lauryn? She torments his libido in ways that should be outlawed. Ryder doesn't do relationships with strings—but Lauryn has him tied up in knots. He's got to cut and run. So why does he keep getting tangled up in the most outrageous idea of all—becoming a husband and a daddy?
My Review
Building the Perfect Daddy
Brenda Harlen

Harlen’s latest in her Garrett family series will leave readers with that warm fuzzy feeling. Her dialogue is well-flowing, fast-paced, engaging and at the right times, laugh out loud funny, the love between heroine and her sisters and whole the huge, Garrett family is obvious and genuine, and her hot handyman and struggling mom stars fit their roles and each other like a well worn work glove. The precious kiddo-co stars and the solid building of this newborn fantastic family rocks the read!

Single mom Lauryn Schulte is thankful about winning a much needed home remodel because her dead beat ex left her life and their fixer-upper in shambles. She’s not too happy that it means appearing on a TV show or the fact that she’s attracted to the show’s sexy, too hot for his tool belt, host.
Renovation guru and host of the super successful Ryder to the Rescue TV home remodel show, Ryder Wallace loves his job and his single status. So why is he so enamored with his latest client and her two adorable kids?
